This Strawberry Watermelon Slushie is a Cool Fruit Smoothie. This strawberry watermelon slushie was originally inspired by Bryant Terry and his cookbook, Vegan Soul Kitchen. He introduced me to the blend of watermelon, strawberry, and lime, which is a truly amazing combination. I first posted this recipe way back in 2009, but have since updated.


Having a watermelon slushie is a perfect way to get your fruits and

1/3 C sugar. 1/3 C fresh lemon juice. 2-4 C ice cubes. In a blender, combine the watermelon, strawberries, sugar and lemon juice; cover and process on high until smooth. With blender running, gradually add ice cubes until desired consistency is reached. Pour into chilled glasses and serve immediately. Yield: 5-7 cups.

Instructions. Place lemon juice, sugar, watermelon, and strawberries in a blender. Cover and puree until smooth. Add 2-3 cups of ice, as needed, and puree until slushy. Serve immediately.

Put ingredients into a blender. You'll need a blender to make your slushie. Simply add the watermelon, frozen berries, and lime juice to the blender. Process until smooth. Give it all a whirl until the mixture is nice and smooth. Add sparkling water. Pour it into a glass, either over ice or just as it is.

You can skip the ice entirely if you freeze the watermelon first! In order to freeze your watermelon, after cutting your watermelon into cubes, lay it all out in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Freeze for 3-4 hours then transfer to an airtight container until needed.
